Insurance Provider:
The Plumbing and Drains Plan is underwritten by Domestic & General Insurance PLC.
Significant Features and Benefits:
This is a general insurance contract that provides cover for the following:
- Emergency Assistance - internal plumbing & drains and external drainage
- Accommodation costs
Significant or Unusual Exclusions and Limitations:
The full list of what is not covered by this plan is contained in Section 7 of the attached Terms and Conditions document. The following are significant exclusions and limitations to your protection:
- The amount we will pay in respect of any one claim shall not exceed £1,000 including VAT;
- Call out charges where no one is at home when the contractor arrives;
- Any work to domestic appliances that are leaking water, other than from external fixed pipe work (hose connectors are not protected);
- Descaling or any work arising from hard water scale deposits, including desludging and the effects of aggressive water and clearing of airlocks;
- Repairs to central heating systems, cylinders, radiators, water tanks (unless specified), controls, radiator valves, motorised valves, water softeners, filters, pumps (including shower pumps and mixer valves);
- Circumstances known to you prior to the commencement date of the policy;
- Claims arising within the first 14-day period from our receipt of your application for protection;
- Consequential loss of any kind and any willful or negligent act of omission by you or any third party;
- Protection is for domestic use only. Homes must be lived in by only one household and not be made up of separate units of accommodation;
- Repairing or replacing taps (including the washer within the tap);
- Claims arising from homes with more than 15 rooms.
Cancellation and Termination:
- You may cancel the policy at any time during the 14 day period after receiving your policy document. If you have already claimed for a repair you may be charged a £10 administrative fee.
- You may cancel the policy at any time after the initial 14 day cancellation period by giving 14 days' notice.
- If you cancel the policy and you have not made a claim, we will refund the part of the monies you have paid relating to the remaining full months of protection.
You can request a cancellation, by calling us on 08444 810 251 or by writing to Customer Services Manager, Freepost CV 2560, Bedworth, CV1 2 8BR. We can cancel your policy by giving you 14 days notice in writing to your last known address. A refund of the amount paid for the remaining full months of protection will be given.

We hope that you will be satisfied with our response to your enquiry. If you are not satisfied, you can ask for your case to be reviewed by Domestic & General and a final decision made on behalf of the Managing Director.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme:
We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation under the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Our obligations are covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim without any upper limit.
